Range of experience Richard Bradford has over 30 year’s experience in groundwater resources and management projects throughout Africa, Middle East, Europe and UK as a consultant for EU, World Bank, FAO, DFID, UNDP, EA, DEFRA and international consulting firms. Particular areas of expertise include Chalk aquifer systems, floodplain hydrology, groundwater floods, well design, monitoring networks and groundwater modelling. Over 90 single and joint author papers and technical reports. Special areas of expertise and assignments on which they have been used include:
  • Numerical models of Chalk catchments and alluvial floodplains, UK (1998-9, 1990); wetlands, UK (2000, 2003); major sandstone and alluvial fan aquifers, Jordan (1980, 1990, 1994, 1995); and Doha (1990).
  • Water resources assessment and management projects in Yemen (UNDP, 1993-4; FAO, 1991); Egypt (EU, 1987-89); Oman (1985); Botswana (1982, 1983, 1986); Somalia (1984); Uganda and Sudan (WB, 1988); Doha (1990); Jordan (1977-2003); and Iran (1975-7).
  • Groundwater floods in permeable catchments (1998), volume-duration frequency relationships in permeable catchments (2000) and groundwater flood risk assessment methods (2002). Analysis of Chichester flood (1994).
