| Range of experience | Tim Stephens is an Agricultural Engineer with over 20 years experience in Africa and, more recently, other parts of the world. This experience has been in the planning, design and construction of irrigation schemes, the siting, design, project management and supervision of the construction of dams - he is also the author of a book on this subject - the training of counterpart staff and topographical surveys. Most recent experience has been as Irrigation Engineer for the African Development Bank and as an independent consultant for UN agencies, JICA and other organisations. In the last five years, working mainly for IFAD and FAO, he has been involved in the preparation, appraisal and supervision of food security, irrigation and drainage, flood prevention and mitigation projects in Africa and south east Asia including the organising and managing of two international workshops in Malawi and Lao PDR. | |
